Maintenance on CWA building priority

23/07/2008 3:59:00 PM
The new blinds on the eastern doors of the CWA rooms are in place and look very smart, and we hope the others will be installed before the visit of our State president on October 2.

The cookery competition results are: sultana cake first Margaret Wass, second Betty McKay. Date pinwheels first Betty McKay (no one else attempted them).

Please note the following dates. The Far Western Group Council meeting is on at Cobar on Tuesday July 29. Please let the president or secretary know if you would like to accompany the councillors as there is plenty of room in the cars. The CWA public speaking contest is on Tuesday August 5. Please come and provide an audience for our students. Everyone is welcome and lunch is available. The August meeting will be held as usual on Friday August 8. The cooking competition is for a neapolitan cake and pear and prune chutney. Warren branch International Day is in the rooms on Friday August 15. Do let us know (for catering) if you would like to join us on this always interesting day.

This year we are studying Mexico and international officer Margaret Wass has a great day planned, so we would love to welcome you.

The meeting decided to send a letter to all our members asking for their help to enable us to carry out some much-needed maintenance on our building. The hall is used by a number of groups and we must keep it in good order.
