The final of the club pairs was held on Sunday afternoon with Richard and Stuart Stanley defeating Brian Robertson and Larry Wilde 21-12.
The score did not reflect the game with all players playing exciting bowls.
Congratulations to Richard and Stuart, and better luck next time to Larry and Brian.
Last Thursday three ladies turned up and played in the Chicken Run with the men and Linda Kendall and Edna Hammond were selected as skips. Linda had Mark Potter and Les Fowler on her side and Edna teamed up with Fred Edwards and Mick Woodward. It was a very close game and with both teams on 14 on the last end and the jack in the ditch. Mark finally managed to get his bowl up where it was needed and Linda’s team scored two to come out winners 16-14. Luck was also with them on the spin and they took home the chooks.
In championships played at the weekend Darryl Collier, Ashley Wielinga, Darren Arthur and Harry Henare defeated Mark and Adrian Cooney, Mark Potter and Daniel Stanley. Daniel played goodbowls, always up in the head.
